Torino
A Treasure at Every Corner
Never, in any city I’ve ever visited, have I experienced such intense beauty, artistry, and creativity at EVERY corner.
This beautiful gem we call Torino was the best city to stumble upon. I know my family had gotten wind of this town and did some homework before ultimately deciding to go but for me, this was like stumbling into the worlds best museum. A city dedicated to it’s craft: from food to fashion, art to architecture, & wine to windows.
If you couldn’t see into a room from the street, it was because the architecture holding that wall up was to be marvel at. A city where you stumble upon piazzas, that guide you into palazzos, then shoot you out into arcades, which protect the castellos and librotecas, that open your mind and open your palate.
You feel Rome. You taste Renaissance. You see Empires.

Signorvino Torino
Low and behold, we feasted at this temple of wine and flavors!
As much as I want to rave about their incredible selection of wines, I actually have to talk about the immense flavors, textures and variety of this restaurant’s food!
A snapshot of our food selection!
Initially we planned for a pasta restaurant that we walked by earlier that day, only to find out they were still closed after our adventure. We decided to be spontaneous and find the next best thing, which was ironically the best thing: Signorvino Torino!
This chain, which we didn’t know anything about, was superb in their selection, presentation, and array of flavors, textures, and pairings. We had the following items, quoted from their English menu:
-
“Baked eggplant (thinly sliced and toasted in crunchy slices!) with tomato, basil and mozzarella sauce.”
This was epic and hands down the best iteration I’ve ever had!
-
“ ‘Pietro Massi’ egg tagliatelle pasta with ragout sauce and Parmigiano Reggiano PDO cheese.”
My family will never be the same again, this dish stuck with us as a favorite. We made it for Thanksgiving and have seek it out at restaurants now too!
-
“Octopus, squid, mixed-leaf salad, cherry tomatoes, sweet-and-sour red onion and Taggiasca olives.”
This was a wonderfully refreshing assortment of the land and sea after a very hearty adventure.
-
Beef tartar, crunchy Parmigiano Reggiano cheese wafers, sweet-and-sour red onions, taggiasca olives, flakes of “Gennari” 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano PDO cheese and honey mustard.
One of my personal adventures to seek a new regional twitch an old classic. This was well balanced flavors with playful textures and amazing to pair with the local Barolo!

Fashion At Every Door
You think about Milan for it’s Fashion Week and for being the high-end fashion capital of the world. But…
I must say that, where the true practitioners of fashion reside is actually in Torino! Every opportunity, every window, every moment of expression that could possibly be expressed was on display in luxurious fashion. They told stories, showed you many lifestyles, and gave you a glimpse of possible futures you crave.
Explore the shops, look deep into the windows for the details, and marvel at how the internet hasn’t taken away all stores, it’s only removed the lifeless designs, the empty styles, and the textiles that last ten seconds. Here, you can gauge the quality and the timelessness.
Bicerin
Let’s not forget the MOST important drink in Torino:
The Bicerin
A beautifully rich concoction of the following:
Espresso
Chocolate (and it’s more amazing with the regionally iconic hazelnut chocolate!!!)
Cream
REMEMBER: NEVER stir this drink! Just drink through the cream, chocolate and espresso.
Palazzos, Piazzas, & Pastas
Every corner, from top to bottom, was carved out by a true craftsman and design wiz. The flow from street to street captures a million romantic angles with a million more picturesque scenes. This is something I hope you enjoy seeing, and someday you hopefully enjoy trying too!
